HV Plant Inspections

Description

The high voltage equipment installed at generation sites, including wind farms, requires regular preventative maintenance to ensure its correct operation. A preventative maintenance program consists primarily of inspection and testing, to ensure the plant is operating correctly and to detect any deterioration or defects. Our team of High Voltage Subject Matter Experts can tailor our core Substation Maintenance program to suit your Site's operational and maintenance needs.

Learning activities

During this tailored course, our RelyOn Australia Instructor will facilitate practical workshop environments to train site based personnel on how to perform the preventative maintenance procedures relevant to their operating environment. Topics covered include:

  • Substation Thermographic Inspection
  • Circuit Breaker Inspection
  • Transformer Inspection
  • Insulation Resistance Tests
  • Conductor Resistance Tests
  • Transformer Oil Sampling
  • SF6 Gas Handling
  • Protection Relay Functional Tests
  • Battery Charger and Battery Maintenance

Equipment & PPE

Learners are required to have the following to participate in this course:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (e.g. Hard Hat, Safety Footwear, Approved Hi-Vis Clothing, Safety Glasses)
  • Stationary (e.g. Pen, Pencil, etc.)

Assessment approach

A combination of theory and practical assessments.

Course Entry Requirements

To participate in this course, learners are required to:

  • have current certification in the required prerequisites.
  • be literate in spoken English and competent in reading, writing, and numeracy.
  • be sufficiently fit to participate.

Accreditation Status

Non-accredited.
Upon successful completion, learners will receive Certificate of Completion - HV Plant Inspections
