RelyOn acquires Interlink, the Australian-based Arboriculture, Electrical, Telecommunications and Powerline Vegetation Management Training Specialist

RelyOn has entered into an agreement to purchase Interlink Training, an Australian-based arboriculture, electrical, telecommunications and powerline vegetation management training organisation with deep experience in its specialist markets. The acquisition of Interlink Training by RelyOn comes soon after its acquisition of Thomson Bridge, and continues to strengthen its position in the electrical training and consulting market globally.

Founded in 2001, Interlink Training is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), delivering nationally accredited training services across Australia. This includes industry- and regulator-mandated training, as well as nationally funded and fee-for-service accredited qualifications and short courses, to the electrical, arboriculture and powerline vegetation management industries.

Torben Harring, CEO RelyOn, said “We are really pleased with our expansion into electrical training and consulting services, and into Australia, and we are excited to fast track this through the addition of Interlink to the RelyOn Australia business.”

“Interlink is a highly respected business. Its acquisition provides us access to new capabilities and new markets, and a stronger presence in all states. Arboriculture and powerline vegetation management training services are natural inclusions to our business - Australia has one of the highest bushfire risks in the world, which means these industries are highly regulated, and they require a large amount of safety critical training” said John Kelso, Managing Director of RelyOn Australia.

Steve Hayes, current Interlink Training CEO, said “This is a great opportunity for Interlink to take its growth to the next level, joining forces with a well-established training and consulting specialist that is committed to expansion and investing in the future.”

Paul Tymensen, current Interlink Training Chairman, was also positive about the opportunity, commenting “Interlink has been a great business under the current ownership. Steve and the team have done an excellent job servicing their customers and helping shape the industry with their expertise. We’re sure this will continue, and the team will thrive as a key part of the RelyOn organisation.”

The transaction has received regulatory approval and is expected to close within the next 2 months.
